Rate My Mortgage — Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 20 October 2026
Who collects your information?
Braedyn Jasper Gillard, trading as Gillard Mortgage Solutions (GMS), ABN 72 688 393 326, collects the information you submit through Rate My Mortgage.
GMS is a separate business from Playfair Mortgage Group Pty Ltd. Braedyn Gillard provides credit assistance through Playfair Mortgage Group Pty Ltd as an authorised credit representative (number 571811) of Australian Finance Group Ltd, Australian Credit Licence 389087.
For privacy enquiries, access or correction requests, or complaints, contact Braedyn Gillard at braedyn@gillardmortgagesolutions.com.au.
What we collect
When you submit a rate check, we collect your name, email address, mobile number and the loan information you enter. This includes your loan balance, estimated property value, current interest rate, owner-occupied or investment purpose, repayment type, fixed/variable/split status and basic or offset preference.
We also record your calculated loan-to-value ratio, rate-check result, the benchmark used and submission details. If you request help, we collect your message and preferred contact time. Our website and service providers may process technical information such as your IP address for website operation, logs and spam prevention.
Why we collect it
We use your information to calculate and display an indicative rate comparison, maintain a record of your enquiry, contact you about your rate check or request for help, and protect the tool against misuse. Providing the required details is voluntary, but without them the current tool cannot complete your rate check. You can contact GMS directly instead.
The tool does not perform a credit check, submit a loan application or confirm eligibility for a particular loan.
Where your information goes
Your submission and result are stored in the GMS WordPress website and sent to the GMS notification inbox. Braedyn Gillard is the only person within GMS who handles these enquiries. Technical service providers may access information as necessary to operate, maintain or support the website and email systems. Website hosting, email, backup and IT providers may process it to supply their services.
If you ask us to arrange credit assistance, relevant information may also be handled through Playfair Mortgage Group and AFG. Additional disclosures and consents apply to that process. AFG explains its information handling in its Privacy Policy.
Personal information may also be disclosed where required or authorised by law.
Storage, security and overseas processing
Information is held electronically in website records, email systems and relevant backups. We take reasonable steps to restrict access and protect information against misuse, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. Online transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
Our website is hosted by GoDaddy in its North America data-centre region. GoDaddy performs daily website backups. Our notification mailbox uses Microsoft 365 supplied through GoDaddy. Information may therefore be stored or processed outside Australia. Overseas handling can include hosting, email, support and backup services.
How long we keep rate-check enquiries
We review inactive rate-check enquiries monthly. Where an enquiry has not progressed to credit assistance, we delete it after 12 months without contact, or sooner when it is no longer needed, unless we have a lawful reason to retain it. This review covers website enquiry records and associated notification emails. Deletion is managed manually.
If an enquiry progresses to credit assistance, relevant records are managed under the applicable Playfair/AFG recordkeeping requirements and any legal retention obligations. The 12-month enquiry approach does not override those requirements.
Copies in backups may remain after removal from active systems and are subject to the provider’s backup retention and deletion arrangements.
Marketing
Submitting a rate check does not automatically subscribe you to an ongoing marketing email list. If we introduce an optional subscription, it will have a separate choice and an unsubscribe option. You can ask us to stop marketing communications by contacting the email above.
Cookies and Meta advertising
With your permission, we use the Meta Pixel to measure visits to our website and understand how our Facebook and Instagram advertising performs.
When enabled, the pixel sends information to Meta, including pages visited, page URLs, IP address, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. Meta may link this information to your Facebook or Instagram account and use it in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
We configure the pixel for page-view measurement, with automatic advanced matching and automatic event detection disabled. We do not intentionally send your mortgage form answers, contact details, rate-check results or messages to Meta through the pixel.
Meta may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Further information is available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
You can accept or reject optional marketing cookies through our cookie banner and change your choice using Cookie settings. Withdrawing consent stops future tracking; it does not remove information already received by Meta.
Access, corrections and complaints
You can contact us to request access to, or correction of, information we hold about you, ask about retention or deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before providing or changing information. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why.
We will acknowledge complaints and work with you to resolve them. If you remain dissatisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. For information handled by AFG, its policy explains its access and complaints process.
Changes
We may update this policy when our tool or information-handling arrangements change. The published version will show its latest update date.
